Menno Simons, Man of Peace

Menno Simons, Man of Peace

Menno Simons was a sixteenth century Catholic priest in Friesland. His brother Pieter was one of 300 Anabaptists that violently attacked a Catholic monastery. They were killed for it. Menno had a spiritual crisis, adopted a path of non-violent resistance, and became an influential Anabaptist leader. It is from his name that his followers became known as Mennonites.
