Yggdrasil is an immense tree connecting the Nine Worlds of Norse mythology.

Midgard is the world of humans and the land of Frisia, the setting of my story.
Asgard is the world the Aesir tribe of gods and goddesses, including the well known gods, Odin and Thor and Loki.
Vanaheim is the world of the Vanir tribe of gods and goddesses. Freyja is a Vanir; Frisia is named for her.
Alfheim is the world of the elves.
Muspelheim is the primordial world of fire.
Svartalfheim is the world of the dwarves.
Jotunheim is the world of the giants.
Niflheim is the primordial world of ice.
Helheim is the world of the dead.
