Elli on the Gatineau

Margaretha Geertruida MacLeod (1876 – 1917) is a Frisian woman better known by her stage name Mata Hari. Menno Simons
Menno Simons (1946-1561) was a Catholic priest in Friesland. His questions about Catholic doctrine led to a serious reading of scripture, which he confessed he had not previously studied, despite being a priest. Menno was not satisfied with the inconsistent answers which he got from Martin Luther and others. After the death of his brother, Simons experienced a spiritual crisis. He rejected the Catholic Church and priesthood and cast his lot with the Anabaptists. He rose quickly to influence. It is from his name that his followers became known as Mennonites. (Wikipedia)
