Online Meditation 🧘 Neurotech Research ⚡ Contemplative Writing

    Snail Books

Snail Books is an animist publisher cultivating farsighted collaboration among animal, human, and emerging intelligences. It supports writers whose work deepens awareness of our shared being and environment, human and more-than-human alike. We create books with digital bindings, often shorter in length and enriched with illustrations, developed in partnership with language models. There is AI in Snail.

Founded by John Miedema in May 2025, Snail Books is a Canadian imprint based in Alcove, Quebec. It operates on an arts-and-climate business model that is not-for-profit. Fair-pricing options align with readers’ budgets, and proceeds support good causes such as our Meditation Community and Parkinson’s research.

Snail Books distributes without Digital Rights Management (DRM), allowing readers to enjoy works on any personal device — phone, tablet, laptop, or e-reader such as Kindle or Kobo.
